  • February 11th, 2002 - The European Commission has adopted a proposal for a Council Directive on a residence permit for victims of smuggling or trafficking in human beings who cooperate with the competent authorities. The proposal seeks to combat the networks of people smugglers and traffickers by laying down arrangements for victims who lodge complaints or provide information to the police or the courts.
